Indexing 101

Hello Ladies!!

For our activity this week we will be learning to INDEX!!

What is indexing you ask?  We are going to answer that question with this virtual activity.

What is indexing?


The youth in our ward, both the Young Women and the Young Men, are going to learn how to index.  Once we have learned this new (to some) skill, we will then work together to index as many names and records as we can during the month of August.

#2.  To start you will need to have a Family Search account, which is usually the same as your lds.org account. Once you've set up your account, or logged in to your existing account, please watch this tutorial on how to index:

#3.  Next we will want you to go onto your FamilySearch account and do a practice index session, which the program will guide you through.  After you've done these three things, please report back to your Young Women Leaders and you will receive two candy bars from our YW candy box.

NEXT:

#4. Go back into your FamilySearch as often as you are able and index more names.  There will be prize incentives for indexing 10 names, 50 names, and 100 names.  

The prizes will be:

10 Names: A prize from our mystery box of prizes

50 Names: A Nothing Bundt Cake bundtlet, your choice of flavor

100 Names by September 6th: Invited to a small party with the other young women that accomplished this goal, with treats and a movie
